The future of successful reprographics firms, in many cases at least, involves working closely with design and construction businesses that are increasingly high-tech. A three-day event called Intelligent Jobsite University aims to help repro firms see that future and succeed in it.
“Technology is being adopted at such a pace that it’s almost scary,” says Keith Cox, national account manager for technology provider Synnex Corporation. “As a result, there are new processes and workflows being created that didn’t exist before. This event is intended to help reprographics people who are working with and selling into the AEC community.”
The three-day event, July 12-14 in Atlanta, was organized by Jobsite Tech Group and will include expert speakers, panel discussions, hands-on experiences, and sales training.
For example, Stephen Jones, senior director of industry insights research for Dodge Data & Analytics, will speak on the Smarter Project Site; Sanjay Mistry, who has worked for Autodesk and other tech organizations, will discuss Virtual Reality in AEC; and Michael Raphael, founder of Direct Dimensions, will speak on Laser Scanning in AEC.
Ron Perkins, president of Jobsite Tech Group and previously director of business development at NRI, will present the welcome session on the first day.
Track sessions -- including laser scanning, virtual reality, immersive technologies, and mobility solutions – will provide more in-depth information on key issues. Panel discussions will include representatives from McCarthy Construction, Batson Cooke, Holder, and resellers.
The early-bird registration fee is $1,050, and that includes two nights hotel, meals and receptions. Two or more individuals from the same company are $950 each. The fee for those not requiring the hotel is $800. The early-bird rate is good until May 31.
