BluEdge, a national leader in creative graphics, reprographics, managed print services, and 3D services, has acquired Vernon Display Graphics, a local giant in the graphics printing industry. The official announcement was made January 1st from BluEdge’s headquarters in New York City. The move to acquire Vernon Display Graphics first began in October 2020, as Vernon’s parent company in Iowa was seeking to consolidate their assets. Sensing an opportunity to expand their current color graphics services and capabilities, BluEdge began negotiations with Vernon resulting in the acquisition.
“Visual Graphics, or wide-format color, represents our fastest growth area now and for many years into the future,” said Doug Magid, President of BluEdge. “Organic growth demonstrated that. But this acquisition allows us to add new capabilities, talented staff, and to ramp up our throughput overnight, fast-tracking our growth in the graphics printing world.”
“This has been a more difficult year for many businesses due to the coronavirus, and BluEdge is no exception,” added Brian Madigan, General Manager of Creative Graphics at BluEdge. “In spite of these challenges however, the color graphics division of our business has been steadily growing and we have even expanded our production shop in Belleville, NJ. This acquisition is a reflection of that continued growth.”
The acquisition of Vernon Display Graphics fits into BluEdge’s overall strategy of continuously adding offerings, services, and the latest technological capabilities relevant to its clients’ needs. This acquisition was focused on enhancing its already growing graphics printing division. By purchasing Vernon Display Graphics, BluEdge has increased its large format color graphics output capabilities by roughly 200%. It is now also able to offer clients niche screen printing services.
“We are very excited about joining the BluEdge family,” said Ernie Minotti, General Manager of Vernon Display Graphics. “Being able to expand our offerings to include equipment sales, 3D services, and managed print services—as well as six locations-- is really going to benefit our current clients.”
“This acquisition is a perfect example of our ongoing commitment of expanding our capabilities and product offerings to existing accounts,” said Frank Plum, Vice President of Sales. “We are very excited to add Vernon to the BluEdge family”
